But it works fine with the NOEMS switch so it's perhaps some other feature that it needs. : expanded memory. DR-DOS has EMM386.EXE, I guess that would work? I am not : up-to-date on FreeDOS. Yes, and FreeDOS doesn't have an EMM386 that supports DPMI. : Now I wonder if I can find DOS support for my on-motherboard sound, which is : CT5880, apparently Soundblaster PCI128-compatible (?), which shows in Linux boot : message and in the report from Ralf Brown's PCI program as Ensoniq. No, it's probably a Soundblaster, at least according to the name. CT<something> is a Creative model number. I think Creative gobbled up Ensoniq. Try google and enter CT5880. There an Asia Creative web server that has much information about Soundblasters. Right, MartinS
