Yes. I don't know why but it does require EMM386. But it works fine
with the NOEMS switch so it's perhaps some other feature that it
needs.

Yes, and FreeDOS doesn't have an EMM386 that supports DPMI.

No, it's probably a Soundblaster, at least according to the
name. CT<something> is a Creative model number. I think Creative
gobbled up Ensoniq. Try google and enter CT5880. There an Asia
Creative web server that has much information about Soundblasters.
