No, that's not the intent.  Apart of GCC and DJGPP, please make sure you 
have installed all the packages required to build Binutils.  This 
includes Bash, Fileutils, Textutils, Grep, Gawk, Diffutils, Sh-utils, and 
probably a few others.  The full list should be somewhere in the Binutils 
package, in a file called README.dos or something like that.
