I created the files as you described above, and can't replicate your 
problem. I am posting this because Eli mentioned he didn't have gcc 3.03 
installed.

C:\DOCUME~1\asu1\LOCALS~1\Temp>cat tmp.c
#include <tmp.h>

C:\DOCUME~1\asu1\LOCALS~1\Temp>gcc -MM tmp.c
tmp.o: tmp.c c:/djgpp/lib/gcc-lib/djgpp/3.03/djgpp.ver
