I suggest you have a look at a curses type library. PDCURSES is available for DJGPP and I have used it in the past without any major problems. There is a Linux version available. The url is: http://www.lightlink.com/hessling/ I think this may help, but then again I could be completly wrong. PDCurses blurb:- PDCurses is a public domain curses library for X11, Win32, DOS and OS/2, with most functions available in System V R4 curses.
