FYI, newsgroup discussions are meant to be carried on in the newsgroup.

what you should do is read the FAQ regarding how to access djgpp
documentation, then fire up info and read the section on "console io",
that is, conio, in the docs.

you can accomplish this by entering

info libc func conio

at the command prompt, if you have installed the info package (if you
didn't, you should also go ahead and install that).

and please keep the replies to the newsgroup, so others can chime in if
they feel like it.
