Okay, so basically I use the functions you posted to switch screens/palettes, prepare a framebuffer in program memory and then copy the virtual screen to the physical one once in a while, and I then write my plotpixel(x,y,color) myself. Thanks! David Anderson, preparing to write a basic 3d to 2d plotting engine...
