Of course, it would be more convenient.  But the packages you use are
ported, tested, and uploaded by volunteers on their free time; it
seems that no one has yet have enough resources and/or motivation to
update GPC based on the latest versions of GCC.  Please consider doing
that and uploading the resulting package to DJ's server for
distribution.  Thanks in advance.
