I've also wondered about this...
Altough you presented a clean solution, other solutions presented in help or doc
files also store the font in a datafile.
However, there must be, I think it was the post idea, an also clean solution to
store the user created font in a header file or creat it at runtime.
Unfortunatly, I (also) don't know who that is done....
