I am _DESPERATELY_ trying to get sound in my old dos games under the Crystal Semiconductors (aka Cirrus Logic) 4299 sound card. I have searched _EVERYWHERE_ for a dos driver but to no avial. Does anyone know of _ANY_ method of getting sound in dos via a specific/generic driver for this sound card or by any other method??? Failing that can anyone point me in the direction of (web) resources so that I could write my own driver for MSDOS for this sound card. A driver has been written for linux so I assume it is possible. I just cannot seem to find any documentation from people who have written drivers for DOS for other soundcards. Many thanks in advance.
