Sorry, there's no good solution to this problem at this time. Its cause is a bug in NTVDM, W2K's DOS emulator. This bug makes W2K not a good platform for using DJGPP, because compilation from the Make utility crashes the DOS box as well. I suggest to switch to another Windows version, such as Windows 98 or Windows ME.
