Bison, unlike Yacc, does not provide a yyerror() function in some
'liby.a'. You have to write your own one. The Bison manual has a
simplistic example implementation for you.

A .y source with its own yyerror() definition will work in both Yacc
and Bison, so this difference in behaviour shouldn't cause much harm.
