Not really.
>If DJGPP does not use .dll files and is thus unsuitabale for Windows apps,
Just because it does not use DLL's doesn't mean it's unsuitable for creating
Windows apps. DLL's are not the only criteria, you know.
>What do the majority of prgrammers use DJGPP for?
Programming. What else /could/ it be used for?
>Please don't laugh. I am a newbie and I'm trying to get a handle on DJGPP,
DJGPP/GNU is a suite of compilers, interpreters, libraries, headers, scripts
and various other doohickeys.
>programmers preferences and the like.
Uh... preferences? I prefer cold beer. ;)
DJGPP is a DOS port of the GNU Compiler Suite, which executes in 32-bit
protected mode under DPMI, and generates executables which do the same.
