The autodetection works fine on most boxen I've tried freepuzzlearena
on, but it freezes some boxen running odd combinations of Windows
versions and sound drivers.

allegro_init() reads allegro.cfg and uses it for joystick and sound
settings.  Anything that's not in allegro.cfg gets autodetected.
