Unless you use the --no-split option to makeinfo, it always splits the
Info file if it is larger than 60K or something.

IMHO, there's no good reason for us to change what the original
Makefile does, in this case.

I have on my todo list to add an option to makeinfo to produce
DOS-style *.iNN files even on Windows.  (Volunteers are welcome to do
that before I get to it, and send the patches to the Texinfo
maintainer.)
