You can build a cross-compiler, to build DOS programs under Linux: http://www.delorie.com/howto/djgpp/linux-x-djgpp.html This works well. Once you've built the programs, you can run them using dosemu. You could also use VMware to run DOS or Windows in a virtual machine under Linux. This works well, if a little slowly.
