That's to be expected, from time to time. People keep stating that C++
was a superset of C, so any decent C program can be compiled by a C++
compiler without problems. But that simply is not true.

The error message you showed

> ANSI C++ forbids redefinition of () to (...)

looks like a typical candidate for this type of small, but noticeable
discrepancy. Go figure where that (...) came from.
