Before I put in a "sales pitch" for my mailing list, let me say that most
C/C++ programming books barely even cover goto's. In fact, Teach Yourself
C In 21 Days (one of the best basic C books out there) says, "DO avoid
using the goto statement if possible." Since goto is so rarely used anyway
(thus posts on the subject are even rarer), his question is nearly valid
for any C-based programming/compiler mailing list.
Your questions are very welcome on my e-groups group called c-prog. I
moderate the list and it is fairly active (222 messages alone last month).
I haven't found any other C programming mailing list very active (or very
friendly). I strongly believe in beginners to C/C++ and the list I have
provides the environment that will allow even the most basic questions to
be asked without getting flamed (there are advanced topics discussed, but
don't let that intimidate you).
To join, just go to <http://www.egroups.com/>, become a member (silly
procedure), find the list called c-prog, subscribe, and ask LOTS of
questions!
