You are on the right lines, but the problem is that error messages get printed to stderr (not stdout) and DOS will only let you redirect stdout. Unlike a Unix shell, such as BASH, which would let you redirect either or both. You can do what you want in DOS using the redir utility: redir -eo -o out.txt make
