Look for the word "flip" in the Allegro docs.

This assumes your character is completely symmetrical.  Normally, I
make two bitmaps: one facing left, and one facing right.  This is why,
in Super Street Fighter II, Dee Jay's pant leg says "MAXIMUM" instead
of "MANTIS", because it's symmetrical.
