It happens under plain DOS too, but just a bit later. OTOH with
message "no more descriptors" from miniperl.
Sorry, I don't understand. In your original message, you were quoting
problems with Make, not with miniperl (what's miniperl, anyway, and
how does it come into this equation?).
In any case, please post a complete script of a crashed session, and
please tell what DPMI server did you use when that happened.
