This does not sound like a bug in Allegro. It sounds like a bug in your Windows
video drivers. I've seen various similar problems because most companies are too
lazy (or feel it's not economically worth-while) to properly impliment support
for SVGA dos programs, or even some non-svga ones.
Some ATI cards (tested under Win95b) cannot use the BIOS's video mode restore
function to restore from 94xX to 80x33 (it crashes the DosBox).
