You could start by not starting RHIDE with c:\windows as the startup
directory... instead, open a DOS window, change to the directory where
your sources are and *then* type 'rhide<Enter>' to start it.

It may also help to associate RHIDE.exe with the filename extension
for project files, and then just double-click on the project file, in
explorer.
