Yes, indeed. The fact that you even mention 'coff2exe' is a large part
of the problem, already. You must have caught yourself an age-old copy
of DJGPP. No remotely recent one uses 'coff2exe' (or 'go32.exe' for
that).
Thus my recommendation: surf to http://www.delorie.com/djgpp, go to
the 'Zip Picker' and download an up-to-date copy of DJGPP. Erase your
existing installation tree and start from zero, again, following the
'README.1st' that came with the download.
