Sorry, I cannot figure out what the problem is.  Please explain.  It
is usually a good idea to post the command line and the error
messages.

If you are referring to the problems with cout, the most probable
reason is that you didn't use gpp to link C++ programs.  See section
8.8 of the FAQ for more details.
