This problem is not caused by your particular source code at all. It's an installation problem. Have you tried compiling from the command line, directly? I.e. try the following: redir -eo gcc -v a2.c -o a2.exe > compile.log (or whatever the source filename is...) and closely inspect the output file compile.log. If you can't make anything out of it, post it here.
