Looks like you've missed about the complete thread on this. There's no need to write any assembly, yourself, for that. Just call the assembly written for you, by our worthy library authors: movedata() is essentially just that: a rep movsd, with added code to handle segment register loading, small moves and non-wordaligned starts and ends.
