Bad idea.  It is much better to use unzip32.exe from the DJGPP sites.

What version of Texinfo did you install?  The problems you describe should
not happen with txi312b.zip and txi40b.zip.

Also, you need to make sure you have LFN=y in your DJGPP.ENV.
