Hi,
Now this is not a general install problem as such, but just a comment
from
someone who is trying to install djgpp with rsxntdj (might have got that
last
Polish name wrong :-)
Though I wouldn't dream of posting any questions before consulting the
FAQ
(and Eli has pointed me towards it in pretty strong terms :-), I find
that some
parts of the install script tell me to edit djgpp.env or use environment
variables.
Consider such a choice to a novice (I don't consider myself such): if
the novice
doesn't have any experience of either of these, then it will be a
bewildering guess
as to which route to take!
I'd like to pick actual parts of the install script and quote them to
help iron out
such bugs (as I see them), but such aren't in front of me just now.
What I would like to see are words such as "If you don't know better,
choose
the environment file route having set up an environment variable in
c:\autoexec.bat").
Sincerely I appreciate the work of many unsung heroes. I'd just like to
contribute
in some way, perhaps by pointing out the difficulties I am having during
the install.
Now, back to that blasted SEGV when my win32 program tries to
"CreateFile".
Is the bug in djgpp or the rsxntdj thingummy linker not involving those
two
extra libraries...
