Hello. Kalum Somaratna aka Grendel wrote: > Fr ex there is a pretty good utility caled VMWARE <snip> > A very useful program one has to admit. But guess how much it is priced? > over 300 US$ !!!??? IIRC. Now who can afford that much money, and since > there is no equivalent free software available (WINE is not as good as > VMWARE) the only choice was to crack it... It's $99 for the non-commerical, home/student user version, which is much more reasonable. It's very slow on my K6-2 400MHz (well, 398MHz) box running RedHat 6.1 + kernel 2.2.14. I've heard an Athlon makes it run at a good speed. I don't think VMware supports DirectX right now. Wine does - I can play Carmageddon under Linux. Why not use both?
