I downloaded and installed djgpp in my Windows 98 machine (a Dell of 97
vintage). [I had djgpp already, but I had not used it much, and now my wife
needs a C complier for a class. So I decided to get the latest version.] I
also have McAfee Virus Scan 4.03.

I have a very strange problem: If I look into djgpp\bin or djgpp\rsxntj\bin
via explorer, the computer stops responding for a while. Then there is very
jerky response to mouve moves, and after 2-3 minutes, everything is back to
normal. Things are ok, but it seems that if the computer is restarted, it
happens again. Is there something I might have done wrong?

[P.S. When I reinstalled djgpp, I removed the djgpp related lines from
autoexec.bat, removed the djgpp folder and then unzipped the newly
downloaded zip files, then put the lines back in autoexec.bat]

It is the man, not the method, that solves the problem.
