okay thanks to everybody for all their help.. I have managed to "traceback" the bug to a seemingly harmless line of code: sprintf( bob, "Active Tank: %s", player1->GetName() ); bob is initialized like this: char *bob = new char[80]; and Player1->GetName() returns "Sahab" whether its on my computer or someone elses (via a fprintf(stderr) call to check the debugging info the procedure Player1->GetName() works returning Sahab...). So why would this line of code be so offensive on other computers, but not my own??? -- *********************************************************** * Sahab Yazdani * "We are all who we are, no more and no * * Thornhill S.S * less" - al'Lan Mandragoran * *********************************************************** * http://pheonixware.8m.com/ * ***********************************************************
