Thanks for the report.

On another thread, the problem with install.exe has been pointed out.
Once this is resolved, if you still have trouble, please email me
everything that is printed when you type `make' and `make install'.
The contents of the `run-yamd' file and your environment (output of
`set') would help, too.

If you need a quick workaround, you can control YAMD with environment
variables, as explained in the README file.  It is fairly awkward,
however.
