No, I read it as the ``next major release of the OS''. It means that
the program called `awk' will actually be `nawk' (directly or via a
symlink).
Since Gawk implements all of `nawk's features, this actually means
that in the future there would be fewer reasons to have a `nawk'
symlink around.

I think it is a fair question, it would be interesting to hear what
