Hi,
I'm a bit stuck with bash shell scripts. I'm using bash 4.7 by the
way. First they do not seem to be executable. However, they do run
some of the time. I think if I look at them with less after that the
system seems to know what they are. Second I thought that these were a
wee bit like .bat files once the header was set up all you needed on the
second etc. lines was:-
my_prog my_data
however, it can not find my_prog which is in ~/bin. I've got a book
on bash but it gives lots of more complicated examples and I seem to be
missing out on the really basic stuff. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Regards Ian.
