And is the stability okay too?? Some people say it's a little bit risky
to buy an Athlon because the chipset is said to be not fully out-developed.
And is the Athlon even faster than the Digital Alpha????

The fastest x86 CPU, probably. I'm not saying the Alpha is the best, but
there are quite some _expensive_ Unix workstations that are faster than any
current x86 CPU. They probably cost about $50000, though. I've got an old
m68k SYSV machine, 25MHz, 16MB RAM, 300MB SCSI, etc, it once costed about
$25000... I have 'em for free...

So we can finally defeat Wintel. That would be very cool.

It's good for AMD to buy one, (and for yourself, of course!) they're
having difficult times, financially. But as soon as I have got enough
money, I'll buy a big-beast Digital Alpha. Those machines are cheap
and fast, but not x86 compatible. That doesn't matter, it runs (almost)
all Linux software, and I can use my K6-233 as a second computer system.
Who cares??? Nobody... I must stop talking about non-interesting things
now...
