Yes, checking the gcc info docs for -frepo reveals that the problem
should only affect non-ELF formats.

When suspected bugs like this crop up it would be useful to check
against a list of known bugs for workarounds and to see if the problem
is real.  Does something like this exist?  I have searched
http://gcc.gnu.org and found nothing really detailed.
