Oops!  Sorry, you are right.  I was fooled by my weary eyes by your
wording which said:

Why did you say ``Unfortunately''?  The Interrupt List says that
regs.h.al == 4Fh is a sign of success, right?

Hmm... I'm not sure what the problem is anymore, see above.  Please tell
where do you see the problem.
