Wow. I was so funny... Thank you for the posts. After the problem was solved by inserting <stdio.h>, I went back to Stephen Prata's book to try example C++ program. Now I understand what kind of file <iostream> is. Sorry if I've bothered the NG with all these stupid posts... ;-p Knoriko
