Fips will do this for you. It's included on the Red Hat installation CD (don't
worry, the installation CD has a FAT partition so you can read it in
Windows/DOS).

Fips is very safe, you just need to defragment your hard drive before hand to
push all the free space to the end of the drive. Fips then starts at the end of
the drive and moves back to where the last data on the drive is stored, thus
resulting in the amount of free space you have on the drive. You can then select
how much of that free space you want to use to create a new partition. Fips will
make a new partition for which you can then use format as a Linux partition with
the fdisk in the installation of Red Hat.

BTW You should really use fips twice, to make two new partitions. One for Linux,
the other for a LInux swap partition (this is required). Make your swap
partition double the size of your ram (ie 32MB RAM = 64MB swap).
