Not true: what makes you think this?

Tom (the list admin) did _reset_ the servers a week or so ago, to clear
out the million or so addresses that were bouncing mail, since there
were getting to be too many for him to keep up by hand and his software
doesn't automate that. He sent a couple of mails explaining this to
the list, so everyone should have seen the notice telling them how to
resubscribe.
