There is a fix for this - you must set one of the "flag bits"
using CWSPARAM to pre-allocate the page table memory.  PMODE/W
is being somewhat unfriendly and allocating all the DOS memory
to itself.  This can limit the amount of virtual memory you
can access among other things.
