Assuming the PIF file includes the pathnames as ASCII strings, you could 
make the installer rewrite those pathnames during installation.

Alternatively, there's a site that holds info on the structure of the
various Windows files (I think it's www.whatsit.com); you could try
looking there for a description of a PIF file.
