(I hope that it didn't say anything I should know about :)

It could be that you haven't got the path set. If your compiler doesn't know
where the libraries are, then it's not going to find iostream.h.
I don't know what recent versions are like (can't be bothered w/ a huge
download) but for the version I'm using you must also run
"SetDjgpp -<install dir with '\'s> <install dir with '/'s>" from <install
dir>\bin before running gcc.exe
