I personally miss dos when it was in it's prime.. if an OS was to be
written, it should be compatible with FAT 32, etc, and be reasonably
small... this way people can run it dual-boot, therefore saving the ms
aspect for their families, etc, while also being able to use the OS..
Trying to compete with windows and linux would be pretty much next to
impossible, so if you can't beat em, work with them :) I'm pretty new
to programming with C, but as i've seen with djgpp, the people who coded
it (I'm pretty sure it was a group effort) did a very good job, and I'm
sure a pretty superior OS can come from the combined skills of all who
are willing to code :) (sorry for babbling)
