I guess this is a sort of dumb rudimentary question, but considering
the Virtual Console feature in Linux where you can work in several
different sessions at the same time--isn't this kind of thing available
somehow in DOS/DJGPP/BASH or perhaps DOS/DJGPP/BASH/EMACS?

Maybe I'm looking for a mult-tasking in DOS that's not there.

Anyway, this alone makes Linux look good.
