I think I know what your asking but if not oh well.
Here's my idea anyway
instead of having 255,0,255 as trans color you could use black(0,0,0).  You
could then draw to black with an XOR and to the white with and AND.
It's just an idea and I'm not sure if AND and XOR blits or drawsprites exist
in allegro(and dont feel like looking:)
