Hi,
A few days ago i decided to take the plunge and try to master the C (and
possibly the C++) language. With a lot of good intentions and with great
confidence i found a good tutorial. Trough this tutorial i stumbled on
the DJGPP-site which was gonna supply me with my C compiler. I was so
happy, so relieved, it was a heavenly moment.......
BUT NOW...... NOW,
Now i'm a few days down the road, i have read nearly every FAQ, every
info document and nearly all the posting in the news group and i still
can't get it to work. I'm totally down, depressed, disillusioned....
So the last thing i could think of was to write to you, you see how you
are my only hope at a glimps of light at the end of the tunnel, my
saviour, my last resort........
No but seriously ;)
I got the DJGPP package including RHIDE a few days ago and unpacked it
to my directory C:\ruben\djgpp. I'm using Win95 and i have a 200 cpu (
so that ought to be enough )
Here's my first question, if i unpack all the zips in the directory they
are in at that time all of the zips create their own directory 4ex.
faq211b, em1934l2 etc, whilst if i unpack them from an other directory
to the DJGPP one there's directory for all of them including a bin and
lib etc.
Which one of the two results is the best?
Secondly, if i run gcc it gives me the following error
installation problem, cannot exec 'as': No such file or directory
(ENOENT)
I can't find the reason for this problem, i did follow all off the
instructions such as altering my autoexec and making sure LFN is set to
Y in DJGPP.env. Or did i miss something?
Can someone enlighten me?
4ever grateful,
