Questions about screen savers still keep popping up. I could never see the advantage of a "saver" over a "blanker" Here what I have used for over five years: BLANK.BAS CLS waitforkey$ = INPUT$(1) SYSTEM BLANK.BAT [You can name this anything you want. I don't use a one-letter name anymore for complex reasons.] @echo off qbasic /run c:\dos\blank.bas In DOS you hit blank [Enter] or whatever your favorite name is--I used to use b [Enter] It works perfectly. In Windows with: Description: Blank Screen Ctrl+Alt+B Command Line: C:\DOS\BLANK Don't change this name. Working Directory C:\DOS Just a formality Shortcut Key: Ctrl+Alt+B or your favorite letter Make the icon anything you want. Now when I hit Ctrl+Alt+B I get a black screen and then when I hit any key later on I get back my beautiful Bill Gates extravaganza. I only write this because I believe "savers" are a waste of memory and are mainly for the purpose of home/office decoration. I think "blanking" is best. Chacun a son gout. Ralph
