Allegro comes with source code, which you can use as a starting point for
developing your own code. It has become the best repository of DOS game
programming source code, so don't delete it -- it is a valuable reference.
The Oulu ftp site ftp://x2ftp.oulu.fi/pub/msdos/programming has lots of
source code, utilities and demos which you can also use as a starting
point for your own work. Avoid anything with assembler. Try to understand
the source code you're using instead of cutting and pasting. Experiment a
lot, and have fun.
