Probably because your TMPDIR variable points to an invalid place. See
section 6.11 of the FAQ for more info. (If TMPDIR is okay, maybe it's
TEMP or TMP that is invalid.)

I won't have any idea, unless you try to describe what did you change
between the last time it worked and now.

Huh? What do Bash pipes have to do with compilation? The DJGPP port of
GCC doesn't use pipes when it compiles, so you shouldn't have any
problems compiling. If the compiler fails, please post the error
messages here.
